House Update

Here are the latest pics of the house. This coming week the shingles should go on the roof and I'll post some more pics hopefully next weekend.

John Travolta Look Out!

When Cody turned 14 back in April, I informed him he would now be able to go to the church dances. His answer was "No Way!" Since then, he has established a different point of view. This came about at EFY this summer where he went to his first dances. Now, he can't wait to go to the Back to School church dance in August. This past Wednesday, the youth went to Leitchfield for a combined activity. Brother and Sister Larsen taught the youth a few dance techniques.

Pete is Forty?

Pete turned the BIG 40 Wednesday! I had planned on having a celebration at our house but things have been too crazy with the house and him working over time. So, we surprised him at the Youth combined activity at Leitchfield. He had no clue. We had cake and icecream and the youth presented him with a specialized cane. As you can clearly see in the picture, there is a horn for alerting others and a caution sign. There is also a money pouch and rearview mirror. Hee! Hee! Of course, I had nothing to do with it :). I told Pete that the next 40 will be the best years yet. Love ya sweetie!

Friends

I don't know what I would do without my bestest buds, Betty and Lynette. We became best friends in high school and still we have kept those relationships up. I so appreciate all they have done for me and still do. I know I can always count on them to be there. Love you guys!

These pics were taken at Lynette's house last summer.

Her girls let us poise for them and we had a blast!

This was taken in the fall of 2008 at our house.

We had a hayride and wienie roast. It was perfect!

Betty has always kept me rolling!

Our Dream Home

Pete and I are amazed at how fast the house is coming AND we can't actually believe we are going to have a house. I can't wait to get moved in and use my library! Lucas wants to visit the house 3 to 4 times a day to see what has changed. The other day he wished we were in it and it was Christmas. Me too Lucas!

Playing catch up!

I've not put any posts up in a while. So, I'm sharing several events that have happened the past few months. On the Friday we picked up Cody from EFY, we spent the night at Bloomington and drove up to Indianapolis the next morning to go to the Indianapolis Zoo. Our favorite part was the dolphin show. It was awesome!

Lucas and Daddy

Cody was our guide for the day. Lucas tries to give him pointers here.

We got to touch a shark!

This was at Cody's 8th grade graduation on June 2, 2009.

Here's a proud Daddy!

Lucas didn't care too much for the water games.

He had fun anyway though.

Cody goes to EFY

This year was Cody's first time going to EFY (Especially for Youth). This is a program put on by BYU. Cody actually went by hisself. We dropped him off on Monday at Indiana University. It was so exciting and scary just leaving him behind not knowing anyone. But I definitely felt the spirit there and knew he would be taken care of. He was anxious for us to leave too. He checked in every night by calling home. We could always here boys in the background having a good time goofing off, good clean fun. Cody loved it! He says he's going back next year. He also had some spiritual experiences he will never forget. I couldn't believe when he called home saying he had been reading his scriptures and couldn't wait to read more. I've posted some pics of EFY. The dates are wrong by the way.
